Tesla

Mechanical Engineering Internship

Tesla's mission is to build a world powered by solar energy, running on batteries and transported by electric vehicles. During my internship I worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer on the Thermals & Chassis team, designing blow molded, die cast, and injection molded parts for 2 new vehicle projects. This involved lots of hand calculations, design of experiments, mockup creation, as well as DFM meetings working with international and local vendors.

Verkada

Mechanical Engineering Internship

Verkada offers seven product lines, including video security cameras, door-based access control, environmental sensors, alarms, guest management, mailroom management, and intercoms. These products provide unparalleled visibility through a single, cloud-based software platform. During my internship, I was a part of the Cameras Product Design Mechanical Engineering (PDME) team, where I contributed to the design of a new security camera and multiple accessories. This involved collaborating with international vendors, initiating tooling processes, and conducting IP/IK testing.

Robotics Engineering Internship

Kindred AI, powered by Ocado, is a leading robotic sorting company dedicated to developing a 6-degree-of-freedom (6 DOF) pick-and-place robot tailored for grocery fulfillment. During my internship, I played a key role in the development of testing equipment for vacuum systems and innovative gripper technology. I also contributed to the design of components for the next generation of end effectors.

OMERS Ventures

Software Engineering Internship

OMERS Venture Capital is a prominent VC fund managing over $1 billion across Canada, the US, and the UK. During my internship as a Software Engineer, I developed innovative signal pipelines that harnessed web scraping, machine learning, and data analysis to identify companies warranting deeper investigation by the VC team. Additionally, I constructed a web-enabled Word Clock display measuring 5ft x 5ft for the new OMERS office. This display featured a digital time presentation, CNC-machined parts, capacitive touch buttons, power regulation, and more.

Hardware Engineering Internship

Untether AI is a pioneering company that specializes in delivering ultra-efficient, high-performance AI chips to unlock new possibilities in AI applications. Throughout my internship at Untether AI, I conducted research and implemented both passive and active chip cooling techniques, advanced clock propagation methods, and developed system Verilog/Python UVM testbenches.

Manufacturing Engineering Internship

Dynaplas is an injection molding company that specializes in manufacturing automotive parts, including camera housings, powertrains, braking, and thermal/fuel components. In my role as a manufacturing engineer, I focused on designing quality assurance (QA) processes and test fixtures aimed at enhancing efficiency and ensuring the consistency of part measurements.

Royal St. George's College

2016 - 2020

During my time at Royal St. George's College, I enrolled in three distinct courses spanning grades 10, 11, and 12, all of which emphasized fundamental engineering concepts. These courses encompassed a wide range of hands-on activities, including breadboard prototyping, surface-mount device (SMD) and through-hole technology (THT) soldering, programming in C and assembly languages, 3D printing, laser cutting, vacuum forming, PCB design, and more. In my grade 12 year, I assumed the role of a technical assistant in the school's laboratory, where I served as a mentor to over 50 students, guiding them in their mechatronics projects. Additionally, I took responsibility for the maintenance of 3D printers and contributed to the design of various projects.
